Job Description/Essential Functions

Exciting opportunity to relaunch the spa following a property-wide rebuild after a fire in 2019 and to continue leading the spa once we open this spring. Ideal start date would be January.

The Spa Director possesses a high level of maturity and professional and personal fortitude, balancing empathy for all team members with accountability. A high level of attention to detail extends across a wide range of responsibilities and requires the ability to ensure that the facility is spotless, that products are used wisely, that clients feel seen and heard, that each team member is valued and empowered, and that tasks are fulfilled on a timely basis. Self-motivation and leadership skills are essential, as is “grace under pressure”. Must be fit enough to run up and down stairs; curious and hungry for knowledge; and not afraid of hard work and occasionally odd hours.

Required Skills/Qualifications

Core Responsibilities• Manage the P&L for a profitable department. Make recommendations for pricing, budget, compensation, and KPIs.• Recruit, develop and retain a strong team. Create multi-media training and resource material and systems to ensure facilitate training and ensure accountability.• Create effective marketing and PR programs in conjunction with hotel. Develop and update treatment menu to stay current and profitable.• Select retail and backbar products, tools, equipment, and supplies. Track inventory and profitability.• Ensure legal and licensing requirements are met in all areas.• Develop and model warm, professional relationships with guests using anticipatory service.• Performs other duties as needed including overseeing maintenance and repair, booking reservations, performing front office duties, ordering product, etc. as needed.

Requirements:• Prefer 2-3 years as a Spa Director in a 4-5 star property, but would consider an Assistant Director or Manager who has a great track record and is ready for the next move.• Proven ability to recruit and build a team.• Prefer bachelor’s degree or higher.• Exceptional written and spoken communication skills in English.• Proven ability to learn and teach new software.• Ability to occasionally lift 25 pounds and to move quickly through the facility as needed.• Well-versed in spa treatments, vendors, equipment and trends.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS: Prior spa director experience preferred
